Ethnicraft Bok - Solid Oak or FSC® Teak Dining Table | Belgian Design

- The Ethnicraft Bok Dining Table is one of the Belgian brand's best-known designs, combining a sculptural shape with genuine craftsmanship. Its graceful silhouette - inspired by the gentle curves of a goat's horns - gives it a light, airy look while offering real strength and stability.

Crafted from premium solid European oak or FSC®-certified solid Indonesian teak, the Bok celebrates the natural beauty of hardwood, developing a rich patina over time that adds to its character. Available in a range of woods, finishes and sizes, most are protected with a natural hardwax oil - which lets the surface be lightly sanded and re-oiled when needed, helping preserve it for years. Selected finishes are protected with a durable varnish instead, offering more resistance to everyday wear and stains; varnished surfaces need a different refinishing process, but they give excellent long-term protection with minimal maintenance.

Ethnicraft's commitment to quality and sustainability runs through every piece. Designed to last for generations, the Bok is made from responsibly sourced timber and created with longevity, refurbishment and circularity in mind. More than just a dining table, it's an investment in good design, everyday function and lasting value.

Ethnicraft Bok Dining Table - FAQs

What makes the Bok dining table distinctive?

Its silhouette. The Bok’s legs are shaped after the gentle curve of a goat’s horns — a sculptural detail that keeps the table looking light and airy while giving it real strength and stability. It’s one of Belgian brand Ethnicraft’s best-known designs.

What woods and finishes is it available in?

Two woods across six finishes: solid European oak in four finishes (hardwax oil or dark varnish), and solid FSC®-certified Indonesian teak in two finishes (natural or dark varnish).

What’s the difference between the oak and teak versions?

Both are solid hardwood, and both develop a rich patina over time. The oak is European, offered oiled or dark-varnished; the teak is FSC®-certified Indonesian, offered natural (unfinished) or dark-varnished. It comes down to the look you’re after and how you’d like to care for it — the oiled finishes can be sanded and re-oiled, while varnished finishes give durable, low-maintenance protection.

What sizes does it come in, and how many does it seat?

Seven sizes, with lengths from 140cm to 240cm. Larger sizes seat more. Unsure on colour, finish and look? Book a free consultation

Is it solid wood?

Yes — the Bok is made from solid European oak or solid FSC®-certified Indonesian teak throughout, so it can be cared for and refinished over the years rather than replaced.

Is the teak sustainably sourced?

Yes — the teak is FSC®-certified, meaning the timber is traced to responsibly managed forests. The whole Bok design is made from responsibly sourced timber, with longevity, refurbishment and circularity in mind.

Does the natural teak need any treatment?

The natural teak comes without any finish or protective treatment, to show off the material’s own character. Learn how to maintain our natural-teak tables.

Can it be sanded and refinished?

The oiled finishes can — the surface can be lightly sanded and re-oiled when needed, which helps preserve it for years. Varnished finishes use a different refinishing process, but give excellent long-term protection with minimal maintenance.

Does it match other pieces in the Bok collection?

Yes — the Bok collection also includes an extendable version of this table and a range of dining, outdoor dining and living furniture, so you can carry the look across a room. See the links above the FAQs.

Can I see it in person in your showroom?

Yes — the oak version is on display in our Cork showroom, with samples of the other finishes so you can see and feel all the options before ordering. We also offer free video consultations if you’re outside Cork.

What happens after I order?

Our customer service team places your order with the manufacturer — for bespoke pieces, once you’ve approved your specification. The lead time shown on the product page is your estimated timeframe, so it’s worth noting. You’ll only hear from us before then if something changes: if your order is going to take longer than quoted, we’ll be in touch.

How is delivery arranged?

Once your order is in and paid, our logistics team contacts you directly to arrange a date and time. They plan all the delivery routes, so they’re the only team who can confirm timings — please wait for them to be in touch for the most accurate information. We do our best to fit around a date that suits you, within our delivery routes.

Do you deliver and assemble it?

Yes — free delivery and professional assembly are included across Ireland. We only deliver to the ground floor, except for bedroom pieces. Read our Delivery Policy.

Which payment options are available?

You can pay in full, or start your order with a 50% deposit and pay the balance before delivery.

Care Guide

For indoor and outdoor use. For regular dusting use a dry cloth. For cleaning, or in case of a spill, use a damp cloth and natural soap. Dry with a soft clean cloth. Do not use abrasive products. We always recommend using coasters, mousepads, or placemats on surfaces as heat and extreme repetitive daily use can damage the finish.
